Heart
Because of a heart condition I have, I've spent a lot of time thinking about my own heart. For this piece, I asked friends and family what 'heart' meant to them. They sent me poems, music, and medical sounds that all made their way into this piece. I constructed a synth sound using an EKG of my own heart, which is also used in the piece.
The Magician
This song was inspired both by the tarot card 'Magician', and by a tee-shirt I had. I created a spell to announce the Magician's arrival; while it sounds creepy, it's actually a spell for healing.
Shower Song
I've always liked to sing in the shower. There are certain resonances that bring out different tones, and the reverb with the water creates a peaceful atmosphere. This is a song where I imagine the shower singing back, accompanying me in a duet.
